Manchester United had to settle for their third consecutive 1-1 draw in the Premier League at Elland Road, as Bryan Mbeumo’s first half goal was cancelled out by a Dominic Calvert-Lewin effort early in the second period.
It had been another turbulent week at Old Trafford leading into the match. There were 24 hours of silence from HQ following Lisandro Martinez’s post-match outburst in Spain but there followed a torrent of firefighting statements; whilst the player was not exactly apologetic or standing back from his public comments, he was reported to have apologised to his team-mates.
