Michael Carrick was doing his best to remain upbeat as he conducted his numerous post-match media interviews.
Carrick claimed there were ‘positive signs’ after Matheus Cunha’s heavily deflected 89th minute shot rescued United a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage that they did not really deserve. The United boss also felt his team created enough chances to earn what would have been only their second Premier League victory from a deeply disappointing opening five league games of the season.
Meanwhile his former teammate Gary Neville was branding the Red Devils’ performance ‘a disgrace’ and labelled the first 15 minutes of the second half as ‘the worst I have ever seen’ from a United side.
