War of the Roses Is A Battle Michael Carrick Needs To Win
16.10.26, 08:05 4 Minute Read
Sunday sees the War of the Roses as Leeds and Manchester United do battle at Elland Road after the Yorkshire team have been quite the thorn in their Lancashire rivals’ side in recent times.
It was a draw at Leeds which was the last result of the Ruben Amorim era in early January, though it was more the Portuguese manager’s performance in the post-match press conference rather than his team’s performance on the pitch which accelerated the end of his time at the club. It was Leeds who inflicted the first home defeat of the Michael Carrick era, too, with Noah Okafor’s first half brace too much for United to handle.
