Manchester United legend Alex Stepney has given his support to goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Lammens is just 24, and despite concerns about his lack of experience, he was immediately first choice at Old Trafford following a disastrous spell between the sticks for André Onana, with Altay Bayındır never looking like a convincing candidate to genuinely replace him.

This summer, although United have signed a number of goalkeepers, including Karl Darlow and Kit Margetson, it has been clearly established that they are happy with the man they signed from Royal Antwerp. The club’s faith in him was demonstrated by giving him the No. 1 shirt after Altay Bayındır’s loan move away was completed.
