As Manchester United lost to a controversial goal in the derby, United fans couldn’t help trudging away from the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and worrying that they’d seen it all before, and only had themselves to blame after an underwhelming reaction to playing against ten men.
The game was preceded by protests from supporters against the ownership. Their statement this time was a reaction against a poorly coordinated campaign, ostensibly against ticket touting, which has led to hundreds of season-ticket bans, many of which were reinstated on appeal after poorly communicated – to put it politely – information about why certain ticket holders were targeted.
